An accomplished programme leader and client-side consultant with extensive experience delivering major rail infrastructure programmes in the UK and overseas. With a background in both engineering and project management, he brings a rare combination of technical insight, strategic oversight, and practical delivery experience to complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

His career includes key roles across some of the UK’s most significant railway modernisation and upgrade projects in the nations largest delivery environments (HS2, Network Rail, Transport for London), including large-scale signalling renewals, asset management transformation, and infrastructure integration within operational networks. James has led multi-disciplinary teams, shaped delivery strategy, and provided leadership across planning, assurance, and stakeholder coordination. Well-versed in complex contract management, and has advised on projects funded by multilateral development banks.

At Triton Engineering, James leads the programme management and consultancy function, combining delivery expertise with a hands-on approach to project execution and team leadership. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Leeds, is a Chartered Manager (CMgr MCMI), and has completed executive-level study in Strategic Management at the University of Oxford. James is passionate about building high-performing teams and implementing structured, outcomes-focused delivery models that align with client priorities. With experience supporting both public and private sector organisations, he brings clarity, integrity, and a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver major infrastructure programmes successfully — particularly in complex, fast-paced environments.
